CRYSTAL HEALING

Healing is based on the principle that there is a universal energy which is freely available to all, and which can be used for the purpose of restoring harmony, balance and health. This universal energy is called chi, ki or qi in traditional Chinese medicine, and it is called prana by ayurvedic practitioners and those who practise yoga.

It is also sometimes referred to as life force, healing energy or divine energy. In essence, there is no difference, apart from the name given by the different practitioners. There are number of different schools of healing including reiki, seichem, reiki-seichem, quantum touch, therapeutic touch and spiritual healing.

None of these forms of energy healing require the client- the recipient of the healing - to believe in any specific creed, dogma or set of beliefs. Even the most sceptical person can benefit from energy healing.
How does it work?

During an energy healing session the practitioner relaxes and opens his or her awareness to the universal energy that is all around us. The practitioner draws in this healing energy and then directs it outwards, passing it on to the client. The client does not receive the practitioner's energy, but only the chi, prana, life force that the practitioner is channelling.

Healing is a very natural, gentle therapy treating the whole person.
Increasingly it is being recognised that disease is often the end result of an imbalance on some level of our being:
physical, emotional, mental or spiritual. Preventative health care can help us stay in tune with ourselves leaving us feeling more contented with our lives as well as healthier.

True healing is the restoration of health on all levels of our being. It is a process of clearing through blockages that have caused our disease. We each heal at our own pace and in our own way and as we become more in harmony with ourselves we also find we are more in harmony with our surroundings and with those around us.

The Crystal Therapist selects appropriate crystals and works with their individual therapeutic properties in a variety of ways. Crystals may be placed on or next to the client. The healing session is then orchestrated by the client's own 'innate healer'.
A Crystal Healing session lasts approximately 45minutes.

INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE

Indian head massage is based on the ayurvedic system of healing which has been practiced in India for over a thousand years (see Ayurvedic Medicine). It provides Indian families with relaxation and healing on a daily basis, as well as playing a part in rituals such as weddings and births, not to mention everyday events like a trip to the barber.
How does it work?

The aim of Indian head massage is to release the stress that has accumulated in the tissues, muscles and joints of the head, face, neck and shoulders.

The non-invasive massage of the shoulders, upper arms, neck and scalp. Indian Head Massage works on both physical and psychological levels, it is a de-stressing treatment for the whole body and wonderfully relaxing.

The recipient of this treatment will often report a 'balanced' feeling of peace and calm and will usually feel more revitalised following treatment.

A treatment lasts half hour.

TRADITIONAL THAI MASSAGE

LADIES ONLY!

The traditional healing massage of Thailand (commonly known as Thai massage) originated in India during the Buddha's lifetime, over 2500 years ago. As Buddhism spread from India, so did this form of healing massage. Monks in Thailand originally used this therapy as one element of their healing practices, which consisted of dietary advice, the use of herbs, meditation, and what we now call Thai massage. This form of massage involves manipulation using stretching techniques and gentle pressure along the meridians or energy lines of the body. (See Ayurvedic Medicine.)
How does it work?

The aim of Thai massage is to release toxins and waste materials from the joints, muscles and connective tissue, and stimulate internal organs by gentle pressure on specific energy points.

What is it good for?

Thai massage helps to relieve tension within the body and can be effectively used for pain relief. It improves the function of the lymph glands and blood circulation, balances the nervous system and clears out blocked and stagnant energy. It is appropriate for a range of musculoskeletal problems including back, neck, shoulder, hip and leg pain.
What are the benefits?

This form of massage is especially good for releasing stress and tension, and encouraging relaxation of both mind and body. Clients report that Thai massage is wonderfully soothing and relaxing and leaves them feeling energised, refreshed and with a deep sense of well-being.
What are the side effects and when should it be avoided?

Thai massage is suitable for everyone, including the very young and the very elderly. However, it should be avoided if you have osteoporosis or very brittle bones; spinal fusions or artificial hip, knee or elbow joints; phlebitis, haemophilia or lymphatic cancer. If you have high blood pressure or heart problems, talk to your doctor before booking a treatment.

Various parts of the therapist's body(fingers, thumbs, palms, forearms, even feet and knees) are used to apply pressure to the receiver's body. This can be targeted at general areas or specific points. These techniques are used in conjunction with stretches, joint rotations and joint manipulations to give an 'all-over' treatment which aims at treating the receiver on a holistic level - working with body, mind and spirit together.

Applying pressure to the meridians and specific points on them, affects the flow of Qi (energy) so that it moves freely and evenly through the body. The distribution of Qi within your body has a profound effect on all aspects of your well-being- the emotional and spiritual, as well as the physical. Chinese medicine views all disease as caused by imbalances and blockages in the flow of Qi. When your Qi-flow is balanced you feel relaxed, confident and full of energy and enthusiasm. Your are free from stiffness or aches and pains, and are full of vigour-you "sparkle" with energy. For much of the time we operate below optional energy level. The Traditional Thai Massage works holistically to balance Qi-flow throughout the body, mind and spirit.

The patient is asked to wear loose comfortable clothing and the treatment is carried out lying or sitting on a mat on the floor.

A treatment will last about 1hour 15minutes.
